Our Church's History

Having its roots in Highland Assembly of God, Trinity Church, as we know it today, emerged in 1964 as an independent inter-denominational church, pastored by Dr. Morris Sheats.

Throughout its rich history, Trinity has had a profound impact on the city of Lubbock and on the South Plains region. Often termed a "bridge" church, Trinity has long attracted individuals from diverse denominational backgrounds who are seeking a richer, more vibrant, worship experience. During its 46 years, Trinity has overcome many hurdles and remains a growing, dynamic congregation that continues to positively affect the region for God's kingdom.

Pastor Carl Toti became the Senior Pastor of Trinity Church in September 2001. Under his leadership Trinity has experienced extraordinary and consistent growth and now has over 3,400 in attendance during its weekend services. In April of 2009, Trinity expanded to four weekend services and provides great diversity in the style of worship services.

In the past eight years, Pastor Carl's leadership and the ministries of Trinity Church have attracted an unprecedented ethnic diversity of worshipers. This incredible season, while not designed by man but ordained by God, has created an amazing dynamic not previously experienced in Lubbock, TX. It truly demonstrates that Trinity is a church "For People Like You".
